Everton Transfer Denies Speculation Eto’o
Liverpool – Samuel Eto’o touted Everton were heading out the door and going back to play in Serie A. However, transfer speculation Cameroon striker was denied by the camp of the Toffees.
In recent days, Eto’o reportedly so coveted Sampdoria. To discuss this transfer, Eto’o’s agent, Claudio Vigorelli, reportedly has met Sampdoria president, Massimo Ferrero, in a gala dinner.
Sampdoria reported to have agreed to sign Eto’o for 18 months. If this news is true, it means that Eto’o will return to Serie A after leaving Inter Milan in August 2011.
However, Everton deny news Eto’o‘s departure from Goodison Park. They assert that there is absolutely no discussion about Eto’o transfer to another club.
“I know there is a lot of speculation. But we were not contacted. We did not talk about it,” said the Everton manager, Roberto Martinez, who was quoted by Soccerway.
“Currently, Samuel worked out very well. He always gave a strong influence every day and there is nothing to comment on,” he added.
Eto’o joined Everton last summer after his contract with Chelsea runs out. He so far has played in 20 games in all competitions and packing 4 goals.
Martinez also dismissed rumors of a move to Manchester United’s Seamus Coleman. He will not let a player as important as Coleman left the team in the January transfer window.
“No, I‘ve said before that the important thing for us now is to get a good momentum in the league and achieve the best possible results in other competitions,” said Martinez.
“Of course we are not interested in speculation big sales like that. We will not sell our key assets in the January transfer window. All the stories, or business or admiration from other clubs, just a waste of time,” he said .
