Appointed as the New Captain Kaboul Spurs
London – Tottenham Hotspur have had a new replacement captain Michael Dawson. The Lilywhites manager, Mauricio Pochettino, Younes Kaboul appointed as the new team leader.
Spurs’ Dawson wearing the captain’s armband in the last two seasons. However, he no longer lived at White Hart Lane as Spurs have sent him away to Hull City.
In some games earlier this season, the Spurs captain’s armband worn by Kaboul and Hugo Lloris. However, Pochettino has now opted Kaboul as a permanent captain, while Lloris and Emmanuel Adebayor became his deputy.
“Younes has shown me all the values needed to become a captain. He has the character to lead this team, as well as the respect of his teammates,” said Pochettino on the Spurs official website.
Spurs recruited Kaboul from Auxerre in July 2007 the French defender had moved to Portsmouth in August 2008, but 18 months later returned to the Spurs. He has appeared in 130 games in all competitions for Spurs.
“I am delighted to be given this responsibility. Was an honor to follow in the footsteps of the legendary captain who has been representing this club,” said Kaboul.
“This is a great achievement for me on a personal level and I hope to lead this team achieve great things in the future,” he said.
